About Funeral Sentry

Built with the operators who actually run the audits.

The FTC Funeral Rule is forty years old. The way most funeral homes track it is older. Funeral Sentry exists because compliance with the rule should not depend on whether the office manager remembered to update a Word document.

01The mission

Make the compliance record defensible by default.

The job is to take the binder, the Word document, the shared drive, and the director's memory — and turn them into a single record per location that survives audit, acquisition, and turnover.

Where we came from

Funeral Sentry is designed around how funeral defense counsel, compliance officers, and multi-location operators actually work. Every workflow on the surface — GPL versioning, disclosure capture, audit packet export — is built for counsel-grade documentation: the standard an FTC inquiry demands.

We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. We are the operating system that makes it possible to prove what you actually did when an inquiry arrives.

What we serve
  • Independent homes. One location, owner-operator, 80–200 services/yr.
  • Regional groups. 2–9 locations, family-owned, typically one state.
  • Multi-location operators. 10–49 locations, dedicated compliance officer, multi-state.
  • Acquisition platforms. Active M&A, due-diligence pre-close, enterprise terms.
  • Cemetery & combo operations. Funeral + cemetery, interment tracking, vendor compliance.

02What we believe

Four principles baked into the codebase.

Every product decision points back to one of these. They are why the platform refuses to use cheerful language, why HIGH-severity flags require a human close, and why AI findings cite their source.

No legal advice

Workflow software, never a legal opinion.

The platform uses phrasing like "potential issue" and "review recommended." It will never tell you "compliant" or "guaranteed FTC safe." Determinations are made by counsel, full stop.

Citations or escalate

AI that names its source.

Every AI finding cites a real source from your GPL — a price item, a disclosure key, a specific FTC section. Citations that don’t match are downgraded to ESCALATE and routed to a human.

Manual close on HIGH

Risk flags that don’t self-clear.

LOW and MEDIUM flags auto-resolve when the data is corrected. HIGH and CRITICAL flags require a human to acknowledge and close — even after the underlying data passes.

Operator owns the record

The data follows the funeral home.

Full export at any time — JSON, CSV, sealed PDF. Cancellation does not gate your records. Compliance data belongs to the operator who created it, not the vendor who hosts it.

Pick the door that fits.

A 30-minute demo if you want to see the product. A 30-day audit if you want to run it against your own location. Either way, we don't take a card up front.
